The safety and security of our patrons is our number one priority. We are committed to following the guidelines from the CDC and the local guidelines from the City of Charleston while providing the best experience for your 2021 New Year’s Eve. IN ADDITION TO FOLLOWING THESE GUIDELINES WE ARE LIMITING OUR CAPACITY FOR THIS YEARS EVENT AND REQUIRING MASK + TEMPERATURE CHECKS UPON ENTRY.
By attending this event, you acknowledge the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19. You voluntarily agree to assume all the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any exposure.
Capacity for this year’s event is based on approval from the State of SC in consideration of the amount of usable space for the event. The capacity has been decreased substantially from previous years.
We will be taking temperatures at the entrance to the event and will have hand sanitizing stations conveniently located throughout the venue.
We will be using a tiered entry system to minimize the number of guests entering at one time. Guest are required to wear a mask while waiting to enter the ship.
In an effort to minimize risk we are requiring our staff to wear masks and encourage all guests to wear a mask when possible.
For your safety, we encourage ANY at-risk individuals to stay at home. We look forward to having you at next year’s event!
The Yorktown Countdown—the best event in Charleston for New Year’s Eve—begins at 8:00 pm. Guests can arrive early to avoid long wait times. Be sure to bring your printed ticket confirmation (with scannable bar code) to guarantee entry. The New Years Eve event will end promptly at 12:30 am.
DUE TO THE “LAST CALL” EXECUTIVE ORDER BY SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR, ALCOHOL SERVICE MUST END AT 11PM, BECAUSE OF THIS WE ARE OPENING DOORS AN HOUR EARLIER (8PM INSTEAD OF 9PM). WE HAVE APPLIED FOR VARIANCE IN ORDER TO EXTEND THE HOURS OF ALCOHOL SERVICE AND WE WILL UPDATE ALL TICKET HOLDERS ACCORDINGLY IF APPROVED.
All sales are final. In the event that the Yorktown Countdown is canceled due to CDC or local government regulations, all ticket holders will receive a full refund within 14 days of the cancelation date.
Plenty of onsite parking will be available at $5 per vehicle. You may also leave your vehicle overnight at no additional charge.
Food stations will be setup in the Hangar on the 1st floor, however, eating dinner prior to the event is strongly suggested. An hors d’ oeuvres menu will be posted to the Yorktown Countdown NYE 2021 Facebook page prior to the event.
There is no strict or special New Year’s Eve dress code for this event. Attire is simply, “Dress to Impress,” meaning wear whatever you’d like to look your sharpest.
NO SMOKING is permitted anywhere onboard on the USS Yorktown, including the flight deck. Re-entry will be allowed with your event wristband should you wish to exit the ship (to the bottom loading dock) to smoke.

Each year we strive to provide something for everyone’s musical taste at the Yorktown Countdown. Therefore, you can expect everything from dance, funk, rock, soul, hip hop and oldies classics to Top 40 Billboard Hits and more. Yorktown Countdown is the thing to do in Charleston for live performances on New Year’s Eve.
The entire ship will be heated to keep you warm throughout the evening, but we will also offer an optional $2 coat check on both levels. The coat check for Yorktown Countdown 2021 is cash only.
Though most of the USS Yorktown will be open, there are restricted areas. We understand you may want to explore other areas of the ship, however, restricted areas are prohibited for your safety. Any attempt to access an area of the ship that is off limits may result in your removal from the event.
